Ok. So Day Six was a dud. Todd and I basically went tourist on ya! We went to Venice Beach, then to Beverly Hills, to the Viper Room, The Sunset Strip, Mans Chinese Theater, and the Hollywood Sign. It was a good day.
Venice Beach was tame but it was 10 in the morning. Beverly Hills was hoppin' but the best was the little pizza joint we found just off of Rodeo Drive. We stopped only long enough at the Viper Room for Todd to get a picture. Mans Chinese Theater, for those of you who don't know, is where all the "superstars" are seen putting their hands and feet in cement and signing it. They have impressions from The Marx Bros. to Mel Gibson, from John Wayne to Clint Eastwood. That is also where the walk of fame starts. The walk of fame is where the stars get their own star on the sidewalk. While we were there I realized the street was blocked off. I then also realized that they were getting ready for a movie premier at El Capitan theater, which is caddy cornerd from The Man's. It was a premier for "Surrogats" the new Bruce Willis movie. We thought about staying but it would have been about a three hour wait an we had the wrap party to go to at 10pm. WE then went to the Hollywood sign and tried to get all the way up to it but they had it blocked off. So we had to settle for a sho about a mile away. Oh well.
So we go back to the room and get ready for the party. We drive back to Hollywood and park in a lot next to Les Deux...some nightclub. There are about a hundred people in line. Our friend told us to go inside and not wait for her just to lt them know that we were guests of hers. Well...no dice. They said she had to pick up the tickets since they were in her name. So about two hours later she still isn't there and isn't answering her phone. We decide to leave and get something to eat. As we are on the off ramp to Burbank my phone rings and it's her. She can't get in either. It was crazy. She said that it was normal L.A. but I'm not sure I will ever get used to that.
So today we checked out of the extended stay apartments and moved to Avalon Apartments next to Warner Brothers. As we were getting here to move in John Kirby wanted me to come back to his studio in Hollywood to do the monlogue again for him. So we drove over and Todd stayed in the car as it should have been a fifteen minute deal. It wasn't. John and I spoke at length about the fact that I am a unique look and that he believes that I will work quickly in this town. Now while I was waiting on John I looked at some pictures sitting up on the shelves of people he has coached. Jeff Bridges, Jim Caviezel, Denzel Washington to name a few. So when he speaks I listened. he said he wants me to loose at least 20 pounds and I will work even more. He loved the monologue and I am in his intermediate class on Tuesday nights. So keep me in your thoughts and prayers Tuesday at 10 your time. I will be nervous.
I move into my new apartment in 105 degree heat and humidity. It was actual 105 not felt like 105. Todd and I dehydrated horribly moving things in. but without his help I would still be doing it. We then hopped in the private pool in the courtyard and relaxed for about an hour before going to dinner at a little pizza place in downtown L.A. It was called Pitfire Pizza. It was THE BEST. Even better than Ray's in NY. Sharon, you will love it.
Tonight I also recieved an e-mail from Jerry Gelb who wants toi pass along my photo and resume to some people he thinks would like me. I just have to get my resume updated by Monday and get it to him.
Things have been moving nonstop for me since I drove in Monday afternoon. I hope it keeps going.
Todd goes home tomorrow and then I have meetings with John DiAquino and Betsy Cramer who is from Indiana and has had success here. We are having coffee to talk and she can answer any questions I may have.
So I will update you on tomorrow's activities tomorrow night. I am exhausted.
I hope you all have a wonderful day!

I love you, honey! Can't wait to try that pizza, but promise me - no more pizza til I get out there. You stick to the meals you planned and you'll have no problem losing that 20 pounds. Take advantage of the pool. It sounds great! Can't wait to take Conner swimming! Love and miss you so much! Call when you can. XOXO
ReplyDeleteRock and Roll!
ReplyDeleteDoing great Charles! I knew you had talent and glad it's being recognized.
So you did the Avalon place? It looked awesome
Oh... I wanted to comment on your new friend and the wrap party.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure she went well.... we noticed that people in LA want to do things and they usually have an over inflated estimation of what they can do for you, something to keep in mind since we really aren't that way here in Indiana :)
We hope Todd got back home aok today. You two had a full, busy week. Glad he was there to help you move into your apartment, but he won't be there when you move out in December. It should be cooler then. We know that you have it in you to fulfill your dream. You just have to run into the right people. Praying for you.
ReplyDeleteLove you............
