Dateline: Day Nine

So I slept for twelve hours last night.  Tried to watch Oh Brother Where Art Though and made it to where They meet the soothsayer on the traintracks and waking up for Babyface Nelson and the Cyclops moments.  I was tired.  So I went to bed.

I woke up just in time to get a Skype call from Sharon and Conner.  IT's the first time I have seen them since I left nine days ago.  It was a good talk.  Conner responded to me well especially when I started singing to him.  I hear all the little changes I am missing and it really is hard to be here sometimes.  But then I think that it's only hard on me right now.  Conner doesn't really know I'm gone.  He knows something is different but he doesn't know I'm not there.  If I had done this years from now it would have been hard on him too I think.

Anyway.  I had nothing planned until about 4oclock today.  But right after I hung up with Sharon and Conner I checked me e-mail and Jerry Gelb wanted to meet with me.  So I drove to the North Hollywood Diner in, you guessed it, North Hollywood.  We talked about my stay and different aspects about it.  I met him in February at John DiAquino's adult acting class.

He said he wanted to take a couple of my resumes and headshots. When I asked why he said he was going to meet with a casting director friend tonight who is casting the "Twilight" movies and she is looking for Midwestern types to be in the movies.  He immediately thought of me.  He also had another friend who is looking for my type as well.  So...we'll see.

Then I went to John DiAquino's and worked on the ITheater for CSA.  And now I am finally home.  Filled days.  That is what I have had and what I hope to continue to have.

Tomorrow is making phone calls and setting up headshots, and different things.  I also may go to UCLA and USC and drop off my headshot and resume to their gtraduate film programs.  They always look for actors.   I need material to put on a reel to send to agents and casting directors.

Anyway  That's about it. Going to watch a movie...hopfully and go to bed.

I hope you all have a great day!
Charles

  1. Finally, I think I figured out how to add comments! I really enjoy reading the updates Charles. It sounds like your are doing things right so far. Guys at work are asking about you. Keep up the good work. As far as film footage, you could always use your wedding video...I enjoyed the beginning sequence the best I think. :-) Take care of yourself. Love ya, Karen

  2. Nice Karen, thanks. :-P

Charles, I'm glad you've had some encouraging meetings. Keep it up!
Conner and I also really enjoyed the Skype call. Not the same as in person, but second best. It was good to see you again.
And you're right, ya know, Conner doesn't act any different and doesn't understand what it means to "miss" someone. You are doing this at the right time. We are so excited to see you in person again. Love you so much! Sharon
