Finally!!! Now I am in the upper esselons of society. There is no person on Earth who can thumb their nose at me becasue of my socioeconomic status. I have, in fact, become part of the bourgoisee. Yes, I got a couch. Ok a futon. Ok a futon rip off. BUT!!! No. BUTT!!! I now have a place to put it that doesn' feel like I'm sitting in Social Studies all day. I'm somebody now!!! And for all of you who have never seen The Jerk go out and rent it and that joke will make you laugh and laugh.
So, I got up, did laundry. Then I got my couch. Then I cleaned a little (I'm a guy so I do mean a little). Then I went to class. It was a good class. My partner was very sick so it wasn't the same. But she was a trooper and came to class even when she didn't feel like it. So, if you remeber last week I was acting too big. So...I bring it down now I'm not acting big enough. What in the aych ee double hockey sticks is he talking about? So I guess I have to find the happy medium somewhere. Sarah Joe (my partner) is confident we'll find it. I am too actually. It's just hard to do what is asked and still be wrong. I did find that you could do a scene a thousand times and he would probably find something to give you a note on. A scene is NEVER perfect...but an actor can be nearly perfect in the scene. If you can find the moment in your life that would bring you to the emotional moment in the scene and use it, you can't loose. I felt I had those moments but they didn't match the character. Because how I might act may not be how this particular character acts.
For any of you who have said "How hard could acting be", I say to you that those who make it look easy train for years and prepare for each part like it's their one shot at an oscar. I am in one five minute scnene and I could rehearse and contemplate this character for hours. To be as good as they are I can't imagine what Anthony Hopkins, Meril Streep, and Carot Top have to go through.
Anyway. More work for me. After next week I get a new partner and a new scene.
I get my headshots in the morning. Then, when I get the disc of shots, I can take the hardcopies and give them to casting directors.
Oh, and to let you guys know, it rained all day today. It was kind of nice actually. It was tll 68. It's supposed to clear up this weekend and be in the mid 80's. We'll see.
That's about it. I hope you all have a great day.
